Patrick Lynch is a dynamic and successful business owner, management consultant, English teacher, and popular speaker with a deep understanding of China and Chinese students. Irish by birth, Patrick spoke four European languages by age 13. After majoring in Teaching English as a Second Language, Patrick studied Chinese at Xiamen University, China. Since 2000 he has lived and worked in China and Canada.
He built his early career in Guangzhou, the business capital of South China, working as an independent contractor for in-house training. Designing and implementing staff skills training for multinationals such as the Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation, Proctor and Gamble, Adidas, Mattel, Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Microsoft Techology Center, Amway, and McCormick. He also taught Business English for the Welsh University Consortium at Sun Yat-Sen University, and jointly set up the Lingnan International Education Centre, specializing in summer education camps for clients such as New Oriental Education Group.
Fluent in Mandarin, Patrick now shares his passion for learning by giving seminars throughout China with his consulting firm. His company has impressive results from their Millennial Management Workshop; an exciting blend of information and hands-on practical advice designed to cultivate the leaders of tomorrow. Believing that understanding China’s younger generation is the key to future success for the country, he has managed exclusive educational preparatory camps for the past five years in China for secondary school students who are preparing to study abroad. Bringing his wealth of experience to Step Up Institute’s summer program, Patrick is an in-demand speaker on education, guiding students and parents to understand and meet international education standards and goals to be able to succeed in elite universities.
Patrick Lynch lives between Guangzhou and Vancouver with his wife, Sophia, and their eight children.
